I felt very lucky to attend the field trip to the various ceramics studios of Bucks County. Each individual artist had something unique that set their work apart form one another. I personally enjoyed Steven Tobin’s studio the most. His explanation of how physics connected to his artwork opened my eyes to the individual meaning behind each piece of work. I felt very enlightened when learning about the different techniques of firing and glazing that the other artists used.

Through my art I process the world around me, both my personal world and the rush of daily, global input. Emotions and information combined with pure, visual stimuli are the foundation of my art life.

I combine collage, sewing, transparencies and found elements with painting and drawing. I seek to mesh the disjointed into a smooth flow using color, composition and the relationships between the materials.

While the finished works should convey a 'wholeness' ,ideally the viewer should be drawn in to discover the fragments of the process.

My studio windows look out upon the Buckingham Valley , the ever changing natural environment is a steady source of inspiration.
